Časlav Pejović je redovni profesor na Pravnom fakultetu Kjušu Univerziteta (Fukuoka). Prije odlaska u Japan do 1997. godine bio je vanredni profesor na Pravnom fakultetu Univerziteta “Veljko Vlahović” u Titogradu. Te godine je izabran za vanrednog profesora Kjušu Univerziteta, dok je u zvanje redovnog profesora izabran 2002. godine.
Osnovne studije je završio na Pravnom fakultetu u Titogradu, dok je magistrirao najprije na Pravnom fakultetu Univerziteta u Beogradu, a zatim na Pravnom fakultetu Kjoto Univerziteta (na japanskom jeziku). Doktorirao je na Pravnom fakultetu Univerziteta u Zagrebu.
Oblasti istraživanja uključuju pomorsko pravo, međunarodno trgovačko pravo, uporedno pravo, pravo stranih ulaganja i japansko pravo (pravo koorporativnog upravljanja i radno pravo).
Član je Međunarodne akademije za uporedno pravo (IACL), Međunarodne akademije za trgovačko pravo i pravo zaštite potrošača (IACCL), Udruženja za pravo i društvo (LSA), Azijskog udruženja za pravo i društvo (ALSA) i Japanskog udruženja za pomorsko pravo.
Od strane Ministarstva za prosvjetu Japana angažovan je u realizaciji Programa za mlade lidere (Young Leaders Program - YLR), a član je redakcija u nekoliko međunarodnih stručnih časopisa. Arbitar je Međunarodne trgovačke komore (MTK) u Parizu, Arbitražnog suda Tajlanda, Crnogorske trgovačke arbitraže i Spoljnotrgovinske arbitraže u Beogradu. Bio je član ekspertskog tima Crne Gore za razgraničenje na moru s Hrvatskom.
Objavio je veliki broj radova na više jezika. Jedan je od autora knjige “Transnational Commercial Law” koja je objavljena 2015. godine u izdanju Oxford University Press-a. Držao je predavanja na brojnim univerzitetima, kao što su Oxford University, Heidelberg University, Washington University (Seattle), Georgetown University (Washington), University of Toronto, Tilburg University, Max Planck Institute (Hamburg), Chulalongkorn University (Bangkok), National University of Singapore, Beijing University, Tokyo University, Hong Kong University, National University of Indonesia, University of Western Australia, Seoul National University, Korea University, Univerzitet u Beogradu, Univerzitet u Novom Sadu, Univerzitet u Zagrebu i mnogi drugi.
